Class review

Last class we were studying the effects on how people of different religions coexisted within the same territory, how they affect each other and how they disagree or fight for their own benefits. Each Article that we had to read on class described the different situations in the religions, For example the Muslims and Spain, Spain wanted to get rid of them because of their deference in their religions.

We read some articles that had some examples on the different religions that coexist with each other and have multiple disagreements,we made a drawing and a sentence that represents the exact meaning of the drawing, Since the 1065 Christians and Islamic people are fighting for their religious land, and many more examples of conflicts over the years.

Socratic Seminar reflections

1: Share 2 to 3 main ideas you are taking away from the seminar.

  • How the Buddhist society may help the whole country the whole time if the problem would keep on growing.
  • If the people of the country think that practicing Buddhism is a good help and that it has shown good results they should do what is best for their country.
2: What was the most interesting idea you heard from the seminar?

  • When a partner asked the question: What does the religious belief of reencarnation in the Buddhist religion have to do with protecting the environment? Because it made people think and it gave the discussion a turn so that people think of the problem in another way.
3:With what idea did you most disagree? Explain.

I disagreed with the idea that someone said about how the Government won´t  try and help the Religions building some new castles or temples for people being able to getting to know the religion better so their country wouldn´t continue having this problems.

4: Assess your own participation. How did you contribute to the discussion? What would you do different next time?

I think my group didn't participate so much but I gave some good points that made some people think and reflect on the Article.
In the next Seminar I would try to contribute more and think more on the questions and comments that people say.

Socratic Seminar Reflection

1: Share 2 to 3 main ideas you are taking away from the seminar.
Many people had been concentrated on the topics that said " Pakistan is more focused on their country, because it has a lot of trouble with other countries" and the other "side" of the room would say that the education is the most important thing for Pakistan's future, and that's the side I agreed the most.

2: What was the most interesting idea you heard in the seminar?
The most interesting idea for me was the one that talked about the future of the education in Pakistan, that Pakistan needed to get better education for a better future of their country.

3: With what idea did you most disagree? Explain.
I disagreed with the idea that stated that the country of Pakistan is more interested in their country than in the education for the kids, I understand that they have trouble with many other countries, but I think that education comes first.

4: Assess your own participation: How did you contribute to the discussion, what would you do different in the next seminar?
I didn't participate in the Seminar discussion, I was paying close attention to the talkbut I didn't had something good to discuss. Next time I will take many notes and think what opinions and ideas I would have to offer.

First unit description

One of the most challenging parts of our unit (5 themes of Geography) was the explanation of each one of those, because you could think of an obvious example or meaning but you needed to be more specific on the description. On 6th grade, I didn't try to specify the examples. When me and my group were discusing the 5 themes of geography, we needed a lot of thinking to get a good grade and to say accurately the definitions of them, and how to put the pictures in the right spot witin their caption of the definition.

Home Geography

I live in a 1 floor apartment with my mother, in a nice and safe neighborhood called Rosales in Bogota, surrounded by big trees and a mountain stream. It is 2 blocks walking down the school.

Colombia has a lot in common with other Central and South American countries because almost all of this countries have a great variety of fruits, coffee, flowers, and jungles. Also there is Soccer that every country plays and many other things that central and south america have in common because they are closer than the other countries. The majority of countries speak spanish and many people are catholic.

The majority of south america had been colonized by Spain and their culture can be seen in Colombia, they gave us the lenguage that's Spanish, some types of food, the religion and tradition. Many visitors have been coming more and more to Colombia so some of their culture has stayed here.

One of the most influencive things is that Colombia has a constant war against "Las Farc" and they are kidnapping and taking farmers into the city with nothing to live and they have to stay in the streets, and thats a failure for our economy. Also we are contaminating our environment by leaving trash in the floor and the gas of the cars is affecting the ozone layer. And very few people are willing to change it.

Warm Up

In Online Blogs I don't like that the teacher can put an assignment in a day to day basis, I prefere it to be in projects and really important work that needs to be saved.
I like that you can decorate it, edit it and you can customize it however you want.
We could make it better by each one of us agrees on having assignments on it. (Voting)
